FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I use your actuator on Robart Retracts?
Yes, we can fit our actuator to most 1/5 and ¼ scale air retracts.
Can I use a 5 cell battery?
Yes, a 4 Cell or 5 cell receiver pack will work perfect.
Can the speed be adjusted?
Yes, through the end points in your transmitter.
Can you have a different speed going up vs. down?
Yes, one end point sets the speed for down and the other for up.
How many cycles can I get before the battery goes dead?
That depends on the number of actuators in your system, load on the actuators, and battery size. But an average retract system with two mains, one tail wheel, and one 5 cell 800mAh battery pack could provide 30 to 40 full cycles up/down.
How much does the Electric actuator system weigh compared to the air system?
Considering replacing all the air components, tank, servo, valve, hoses, fittings, and mounting hardware you are less overall weight. Let’s compare a system with two mains;all the air components you replace weigh
8 oz., two actuators weigh 5.2 oz., a 4 cell 750mAh battery (optional) weighs 2.1 oz., for a total of 7.3 oz.
Can you reverse the actuator before it finishes going up?
Yes, you can change directions at any time, just flip the switch on your transmitter.
What happens if the landing gear binds preventing the gear from moving?
The electronics on the actuator will detect this and stop, which prevents your battery from being discharged. You can still flip the switch on your transmitter to change directions and try to loosen the bind. |
